Sarah and Marvin Taylor are both educators currently living in Portage, MI. Sarah is a Math Interventionist, while Marvin teaches Seventh Grade Social Studies. Sarah is employed at Comstock Public Schools and Marvin is employed at Paw Paw Public Schools . Between the two of them, they have over twenty years experience in education. They love to travel and enjoy gardening in their spare time.
Throughout her career, Sarah has taught Language Arts, Science, and Math, and worked in RTI at Muskegon Middle School. She has also worked as a middle school coach in basketball and volleyball, led the middle school Student Council, chaired the school improvement team, and created curriculum for her fledgling middle school Horticulture Club. Sarah has been successful in writing grants and speaking at conferences.
Marvin has also been very active throughout his career. While chairing the Social Studies department at his school, he has worked as a building interventionist using RTI, and as a fifth grade teacher. Marvin has also participated in the district technology planning committee, child study committee, and school steering committee, attaining a smart board for his classroom through grant writing. He is a past member of The Drop, an after school hangout for middle school students in Paw Paw, MI, and has led sessions at numerous conferences.
Sarah and Marvin are passionate about education. Their desire is to be change agents, impacting the world of education in a positive way, while observing gains in student achievement. They look forward to presenting at the 2015 Association for Middle Level Educators national conference where they will both be leading a session on building a purposeful advisory at the middle school level. Possessing master degrees in middle level education and administration respectively, they are available for speaking and will individualize their work to meet your needs!
